Not only is the crèche important for the safeguarding of our kiwi, but it is also used as an opportunity to record kiwi behavior and investigate other wildlife activity that may be impacting the kiwi population. 

The installation of real time cameras allow us to monitor kiwi activity without impacting on the environment or being obtrusive to the kiwi habitat. We aim to record the life cycle of a kiwi chick and this will lead us to a greater understanding of the developmental stages in the wild.
